COVID-19 & Safe Travelling

As the opportunity of international travel appear on the horizon, Byroads is looking forward to having you join us on one of our upcoming trips. As countries start to emerge from the pandemic and travel conditions continue to improve we are hopeful of  re-commencing tour operations in early 2022.

At the moment there are still several unknowns and much will depend on governmental rules and regulations both in our home countries as well as to the destination countries we wish to travel to or transit through. In the coming weeks these rules should become clearer and it is likely that Byroads will be required to follow certain rules and guidelines to ensure our trips are safe for everyone. This will likely include the need to wear masks in many areas and a requirement that all travellers and Byroads guides are fully Covid-19 vaccinated and can provide proof of such vaccination.

Byroads is an Australian company and the majority of Byroads guests come from Australia. Currently the Australian border is closed to entry and exit without special permission. This will obviously need to change however with high rates of vaccination likely in Australia the opening of the border is predicted to be before the end of 2021.

In the coming weeks Byroads will be watching closely those important issues affecting international travel including border entry and exit, flight resumptions, travel insurance, government travel advices, compulsory quarantine, etc. We will also be liaising with our service providers in-country regarding local conditions and any restrictions.  Conditions for travel are improving quickly and Byroads will  be ready to recommence operations as soon as we can safely do so. In the meantime Byroads strongly recommends that you follow the current status and updates to Australia’s immigration and border arrangements relating to COVID-19, available at https://covid19.homeaffairs.gov.au. In addition, you should familiarise yourself with airline and other service providers’ COVID requirements which may include, but are not limited to providing proof of full COVID-19 vaccination, the requirement to wear masks during travel and adhering to border control requirements in relation to COVID-19 tests.

The Byroads website now has trips listed for 2022 and 2023.  Please start dreaming and planning your next holiday with us and you are invited to make a booking at anytime.  Remember, in the event that Byroads is unable to operate a tour, your deposit would be refunded in full or can be transferred to a different departure.
